FAQ: I want to check the Pleasanter log
Overview¶
If you cannot receive email from Pleasanter, check in the order of the numbers in the figure below.
Pleasanter ((1), (2))¶
| What to Check | Possible Cause |
|---|---|
| - Whether the email sending result is recorded in the email sending log (OutgoingMails) | - A mistake in the parameter settings - The network is down - A mistake in the conditions of the notification settings |
| - Whether an error is recorded in the system log (Syslogs) | - A mistake in the parameter settings - The network is down - A mistake in the conditions of the notification settings |
First check the email sending log (the OutgoingMails table) and see whether the email sending result is recorded. For the steps, refer to the following manual.
FAQ: I want to check the email sending log of Pleasanter
If the email sending result is not recorded, check the following points.
- Whether the settings of Notification, Reminder and the notification of Process in Manage Table are appropriate.
- Whether the settings of Mail.json are appropriate.
- Whether there is a failure in the network between Pleasanter and the outgoing mail server.
If the email sending result is recorded, Pleasanter has asked the outgoing mail server to send according to the settings. Check each setting in Manage Table and the destinations of the email sending result, and see whether the intended addresses are included in the destinations.
Outgoing Mail Server ((3))¶
| What to Check | Possible Cause |
|---|---|
| - Whether there is a sending log - Whether an error is recorded in the log | - A mistake in the parameter settings (connection information, credentials) - Whether the destination email address is not included in the list |
If there is no problem with (1) and (2), the next thing to check is the outgoing mail server. A mail server can have a function that looks at the destination address, judges the mail to be junk or spam, and quarantines it. Check whether the mail that should have been sent is not quarantined.
Receiving Mail Server / Gateway ((4))¶
| What to Check | Possible Cause |
|---|---|
| - Whether there is a receiving log - Whether an error is recorded in the log | - A mistake in the parameter settings (connection information, credentials) - Whether the destination email address is not included in the suppression list |
If there is no problem with (3), the next thing to check is the recipient's incoming mail server. As with the outgoing mail server, a mail server can have a function that looks at the destination address, judges the mail to be junk or spam, and quarantines it. Check whether the mail that should have been sent is not quarantined.
Recipient's Mailer ((5))¶
| What to Check | Possible Cause |
|---|---|
| - The junk mail folder | - Incomplete settings such as DKIM/SPF |
The last thing to check is the recipient's mailer (mail software). Check whether the mail has not been judged to be junk or spam and quarantined, or automatically sorted according to the sorting rules each user has set.
