## What is a Department? You can create departments to which users belong. A user can only belong to one department. ## Limitations ### Access Restrictions with [Security.json](/en/manual/security-json) [Security.json](/en/manual/security-json) has a function that allows access to Pleasanter on an organizational unit by setting "AllowIpAddresses" and "IpRestrictionExcludeMembers" together. If you are using this function to enable access to an organizational unit, please note that deleting/disabling a department/deleting a user who belongs to it will prevent the user from accessing Pleasanter. Suppose a user with important administrative privileges such as a tenant administrator can no longer access Pleasanter. In that case, it may be necessary to change the device's IP address or reconfigure [Security.json](/en/manual/security-json). *If you have not restricted access by IP address using "AllowIpAddresses" in [Security.json](/en/manual/security-json), you do not need to consider the above restrictions. ## Create a Department You can create a new department by performing the following operations. "Tenant Administrator Privileges" are required for this operation. 1. Open the "Manage" menu and click "Department Management". 1. Click the "Create New" button. 1. Enter the required information in the table below. |Item name|Description|Settings| |:---|:---|:---| |Department ID|ID of the target department|A unique number is automatically assigned. | |Version|Change history number|Counts up automatically when updating. | |Department Code|Code for managing department|Set any code. | |Department Name|Name of department|Set any department name. | |Description|Field for additional explanation|Enter any text. | ## Delete a Department You can delete a department by performing the following operation. "Tenant Administrator Privileges" are required for this operation. 1. Open the "Manage" menu and click "Department Management". 1. Click the target department to display the editing screen. 1. Click the "[Delete](/en/manual/table-record-delete)" button. ## Disable a Department You can disable a department by performing the following operation. When a department is disabled, access control by the department unit is disabled. "Tenant Administrator Privileges" are required for this operation. 1. Open the "Manage" menu and click "Department Management". 1. Click the target department. 1. Check "Disabled". 1. Click the "Update" button. If you uncheck "Disabled" and click the "Update" button, the disabled department will be enabled. ## Add Users to a Department You can add users to a department by performing the following operations. "Tenant Administrator Privileges" are required for this operation. 1. Open the "Management" menu and click "Users Management". 1. Click the target user. 1. On the user information editing screen, select the department you want to assign to the "[Department](/en/manual/table-management-choices-text-depts)" item. 1. If you want to grant tenant administrator privileges, enable the "[Tenant Administrator](/en/manual/user-management-tenant-manager)" checkbox. 1. Click the "Update" button. ## Delete Users from a Department You can delete users from a department by performing the following operation. "Tenant Administrator Privileges" are required for this operation. 1. Open the "Manage" menu and click "Users Management". 1. Click the target user. 1. Change the selection of the "[Department](/en/manual/table-management-choices-text-depts)" item on the user information editing screen. 1.
