## Overview You can set parent-child relationships for "[Classification Item](/en/manual/table-management-class)" in the "[Editor](/en/manual/table-management-editor)". When a parent classification item is selected, the child classification item options automatically switch to those corresponding to the selected value of the parent item. ## Notes 1. There is no limit to the number of items or hierarchies that can be linked, but if you use them too much, performance may deteriorate when you open the edit screen. ## Limitations 1. If you perform "[Import](/en/manual/site-package-import)" on a "[Table](/en/manual/table)" that has "「Relating Column」" set, the parent-child relationship may not be registered correctly. If there are duplicate display names in [import](/en/manual/table-record-import), the first data found will be linked regardless of the "「Relating Column」" settings. If there are duplicate display names in the child "「Item」" of "「Relating Column」", the value of the parent "「Item」" may be set to the value of the unrelated child "「Item」". If the value of the parent "「Item」" and the value of the unrelated child "「Item」" are set, the value of the child "「Item」" will be cleared and left blank when you open the "[Editor](/en/manual/table-management-editor)". 1. Does not work with Read-only Items. 1. Does not work with "[List Edit](/en/manual/table-record-editongrid)". ## Prerequisites 1. "Site Administration Permission" is required to configure settings. 1. The items to be linked must be in a parent-child relationship based on their order of appearance. The selection list of classification items in a parent-child relationship must specify the site set by the "[Link](/en/manual/table-record-import-and-link)". 1. Only classification items displayed in the editor screen can be linked. ## Operation Procedure 1. Create Tables and Master Data First, create the following three record tables. The Address Book table links to the Prefecture Master and City/Ward/Town/Village Master tables. The City/Town Master table links to the Prefecture Master table.  ## "Prefecture Master" Table  The "Prefecture" is the title item. ・Create two records with prefectures "Tokyo" and "Kanagawa". ## "City/Ward/Town/Village Master" Table  The "City/Ward/Town/Village" is the title field. Create the following six records, selecting the appropriate prefecture in the "Prefecture" item. |Prefecture|City/Ward/Town/Village| |:---|:---| |Tokyo|Nakano Ward| |Tokyo|Shinjuku Ward| |Tokyo|Shibuya Ward| |Kanagawa|Yokohama City| |Kanagawa|Kamakura City| |Kanagawa|Kawasaki City| Link the "City/Ward/Town/Village Master" table with the "Prefecture Master" table. Select "Prefecture" for "Link Item". Create new records, select either "Tokyo" or "Kanagawa" in the "Prefecture" item, and then input the corresponding city or town in the "City/Ward/Town/Village" item. ## 2. Set Up Links  　・Link the "Address Book" table with the "Prefecture Master" table. For "Link Item", select "Prefecture". 　・Link the "Address Book" table with the "City/Ward/Town/Village Master" table. For "Link Item", select "City/Ward/Town/Village". ## 3. Set Up Item Linkage Open "「Table Management」" for the "Address Book" table, and click "Create New" under "Item Linkage Settings" from the "[Editor](/en/manual/table-management-editor)" tab.  The items that have been linked will be displayed in the choice list, so "Enable" "Prefecture" and "City/Ward/Town/Village". At this time, the items at the top will be the major classification, and will be the items that will narrow down the child items, so "Prefecture" must be set above "City/Ward/Town/Village".  This completes the setting up of item linkage.
